TOO MANY SUPERHERO MOVIES?

(Dr. Conners/Lizard from The Amazing Spiderman)

A sign that Joey might have seen one too many superhero movies:

Joey: "Mom, can I go swimming?"
Mommy: "No, Daddy put chemicals in the pool yesterday and we have to wait a while."
Joey: "What would we turn into?"
Mommy: pause... figure out where her mind is going... "Oh no, baby. Not those kind of chemicals. Just the normal kind to clean the water. We don't live in a superhero movie!"

PLAYING WITH BIG KIDS

Joey had Caitlin over for a playdate and Sam got to play with the big girls!
 Dress up and dancing.
I think we are raising another princess.

RIDE FOR KIDS 2013 RESULTS

Suzie, Me, KaKi, Grandpa & Chris were running calculators and handling things in the back this time.
Terry & Rick were a registration team, Mark was a team captain and somebody thought it was a good idea to give Andy money. He was in charge of making change!
Not as many bikers this year. By a lot. The organizations made A LOT of changes, and some biker groups didn't like them. (the $ increase for registration and then again for a t-shirt, being one of them.)

So considering the small turn-out, I think that $56,6715 is a pretty good sum!
The Craven-Meyers family was the top fund raiser again this year, with just over $12,000!

MICKEY MOUSE CLUB MARCH

"Whose the leader of the club that's made for you and me?
M - I - C - K - E - Y    M - O - U - S - E!"
Found this adorable jumper at Meadow Trading Post in Ft. Wilderness the last time we stayed.
I really wish the back had a pick of Donald Duck in the upper corner screaming his part, which my family always sings louder: DONALD DUCK!

COLORING EASTER EGGS

We had a lot of traveling and things going on around Easter, so to be honest, we didn't color Easter eggs till after Easter. But Sam couldn't miss it, it was her first Easter!

And she loved coloring Easter eggs! First you color the eggs, then you try to swallow the whole egg, in order to color your mouth! She immediately grasped the concept.
Check out Sam's tongue. Yep. Red & blue eggs in a baby's hands equals purple tongue.

MMM, MMM GOOD!

You know, sometimes its hard for me to get excited about how well Sam eats when I see her sneeze, snot goes running down, and she catches with her tongue. (When she's sick.) If she'll eat that, it doesn't say much for the food I'm cooking her.

EASTER BASKETS

Look, food! The Easter Bunny knows that Sammy Never Stops Eating!
See Kaki, you're not the only one who gets them matching clothes. The Easter Bunny got them coordinating superhero t-shirts.

1ST SENTENCE

Sam said "Hi Dada!" while waving at Mark.
She has been saying "Dada" for months, and has been saying "Hi" for about a week.
But yesterday she used them together.

So now Rick and Mark got into a discussion yesterday about what constitutes a sentence or complete sentence. Do you have to have a noun and a verb? Does Sam's sentence count? Does it count, but she just has bad grammar? Paka Rick is trying to NOT give her credit.

EASTER AT KAKI'S

Kaki's babies... all of them!
Kaki's grands.
Easter basket time!

Sam dove right into to her first Easter Egg hunt!
She totally got the concept. When you find an egg, you share...
One for the basket, one for my mouth!
Josephine skipped over the half the eggs she saw. She decided she was only going to pick up the pretty eggs this year. (The ones that sparkled.)
Judging by Maddie's full basket, she had no such qualms.
Or Austin.
 Madison skipped the small change.
Ellie had some help.
 I don't know. Seriously, I got nothing.
 Awww....

 Sweet...
Time to get down down to business and bust open those eggs!

WEST COAST EASTER

We usually have Easter dinner with the Cravens/Bradys the day before Easter, now that we have kids that need to be home Sunday morning for the Easter Bunny!

Sam loved exploring Steve & Cindy's lovely new house.
Joey didn't want to leave because she could watch Ice Age in 3D.

WHEN YOU SAY ON THE BEACH...

When I say you get to park your motothome right on the water... I mean it!
The Ft. Desoto campground is pretty large, but this is part of the back side, near the cove.
Sam loved the playground, and the swing, almost as much as the beach.
Tried to take the girls fishing with Grandpa but Sam was teething and getting sick and was not a pleasant passenger. Did get up close and personal with a pod of dolphins though!

BEACHIN' AT FT. DESOTO

We went to Ft. Desoto over Spring Break.
That was Sam's 1st time in the Gulf of Mexico.
Joey will pick up/pet all sorts of disgusting.
That is a dead horse shoe crab.

Sam really enjoyed the cold sand.

Major earth work project has begun!
 Castle Jo-Jo!

RORSCHACH TEST

Have you ever looked at the clouds and seen shapes? Ever played that game with someone?
It's like a Rorschach test. Blobs on paper, and everyone sees something different in it.

Joey does this with Sam's poo.
She is so excited when Sam poos. She never misses a diaper changing. She stands up on the toy cedar chest next to the changing table so she can see really well. And I always open Sam's diaper all the way, so she can get a good look, and then she tells me what it looks like.

Joey loves all things disgusting.
It makes me afraid to think of her possible career paths and life interests.

DOLPHIN TALES

We went to go see Winter, the star of the movie DOLPHIN TALES.
She lives at the Clearwater Aquarium near St. Petersburg. So when we went to visit Uncle Tom, we went to visit Winter too.
It's a small facility, meant for rescue and release. But Winter can never be released back into the wild since her tail had to be amputated. She now has a prosthetic tail.
They do a great job with the crowds and are also expanding the facility.

We got to see her swim with and without her tail and got to see her play with her friend Panama.

Grandma came with us, but you don't see her because she took most of the pictures!
I can't tell you how long Joey played at the stingray touch tank. Sam practically took a bath.
A lotta fun!
