DOC & DOYLE JR

 Is silliness nature or nurture?
In the case of Joey & Maddie, (AKA Doc & Doyle Jr.) we may never know.
These two were destined to be this way.
And of course, there was no coaching involved.

EASTER EGG HUNT AT MOM-MOM'S

 Group photo!
4 kids, 400 eggs or so.
Sounds about right.
Family photo op.
Joey had more fun playing with the basket then the gifts that went in it.
Figures.

And of course...
 There was no cheating...
 I repeat...
 No cheating!

EASTER EGG HUNT AT SCHOOL

It was a rainy morning the Thursday morning before Good Friday.
So the Easter Egg hunt at school had to be moved inside.
I LOVE how the kids decorated their egg cartons from home so they looked like easter bunnies. And the egg cartons made it easy for them to collect and count their eggs.
Joey looks like an Easter Egg herself in this dress, I know.

SO THIS IS LOVE

ST. PETERSBURG

I know, more beaches?
Well we were on the west coast looking at motor homes, cause' Grandma & Grandpa were thinking about trading up, but decided against it. So we visited 2 big dealerships over there and stayed at Uncle Tom's house as well.
This is Fort DeSoto Beach which is just minutes from Uncle Tom's house.
Joey was much more interested in building sand castles then in swimming.
The water fight with Grandpa was very entertaining to watch.
He was trying to show her how to throw the water well, but also not let her win at the same time.
Teta Vesna, Joey & Uncle Tom pause for a photo op.
 Sunrise from Uncle Tom's house.

ONCE UPON A DREAM

HOUSE BEACH

Where is House Beach you ask?
That is what I called Ft. Myers Beach until about 5th grade.
When we would go over there, we always stayed at The Pink Shell, which was cottages right on the beach. So that's what I called it.
Alas, Pink Shell is no more. But there are lots of other nice hotels and the beach is still awesome.
A very fine sandcastle, if I may say so myself, considered the make-shift tools we had.
 Joey LOVES to pick shells!
Joey, below, taking a "sand bath."

STAR SPANGLED BANNER

MY BEST FRIEND

Mark and I took Joey and Maddie to the weekend carnival that Holy Cross did about a month ago.
Boy did they have a BLAST!
Cotton Candy and coke... NOW IT'S A CARNIVAL!

Joey LOVES the dragon roller coaster, but Maddie WILL NOT be swayed by peer pressure.
She was NOT going on that ride!

I seriously don't know how those children weren't sick after this spinning bear ride.

JESSICA'S WEDDING

Joey hitched a ride with Mom-Mom down the gravel path.
(I still say her eye color is closest to Mom-Mom's.)
Thank you Mandy, for the where's Waldo moment.
Mark loves this picture because: "(insert 5th grade school girl laugh) It looks like I've got my finger up a duck's butt!"
The dancing queen (sans shoes for most of the night.)
So we rinsed our piggies in that handy dandy foot bath they had in the courtyard.

GO ON, GUESS!!!

People LOVE to guess what we're having. Especially because we ourselves, don't know.
Women from the caribbean, especially.
Just some of the things I've heard:

"If you look pregnant from behind, then it's a ... (heard both answers here.)"
"If you belly points out, it's a boy. If it's more round, then its a girl."
"If it takes the pretty from your face, it's a girl." (To which I reply, "What, I don't look F#$%ing glowing to you?!")
"If it responds when Joey touches your belly, it's a boy." (Apparently sisters don't like each other, even before they meet each other.)

But my most recent encounter is my favorite.

A Dominican woman took my hand, looked at some lines, and said they were too short, that I was going to have a girl. To which I replied:

"Oh no, see, I'm white. It gets bigger... just give it a minute."

:)

PAINTING JOEY'S ROOM

Joey was a big girl and helped Daddy paint her new room.
She did less goofing off then Daddy did.
 Very serious. Very thorough.

HOMESTEAD RODEO PARADE

Joey and I rode on her Pre-school's float for the Homestead Rodeo Parade back in January.
We got to throw candy to the crowds.
 That was fun!

CHEF JOEY

Joey really actually helped me make pizza.
She helped roll out the dough, she gets the ingredients from the fridge, she tears the basil, sprinkles the cheese... anything that doesn't involve a knife or heat.

She LOVES to cook!
